Charles W. Lucas, of Plymouth Meeting, passed away peacefully on Monday November 28, 2016. He was 93 years old. Born October 1, 1923 in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of the late Marie (nee Arado) Lucas.
Charles was honorably discharged from the US Army after serving in World War II. During his service to our country, he was part of various campaigns, most notably was the campaign at Normandy Beach. He worked for the Federal Government for 35 years. Charles and his late wife were married at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, where they were both long time members.
Charles is survived by his niece Catherine Urig, and nephews; Charles Jones and his wife LaVaughn and Frank Jones as well as a host of great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, MaryBell Jones, and two nephews; George and Billy Jones.
Relatives and friends are invited to share in Charles' Life Celebration on Thursday December 1, from 9 to 10 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. His funeral mass will begin at 10:30 AM at Epiphany of Our Lord on Walton Rd. in Plymouth Meeting. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
