Abington, Pennsylvania | Age 65

Richard S. Myers passed away suddenly on April 8, 2018 at age 65. Born July 16, 1952 in Abington, Richard was the son of the late Agnes (Kutzer) and Robert L. Myers. He resided in Blue Bell with his beloved wife of 42 years, Donna L. (Ulmer) Myers.

Richard was the loving father of Elizabeth Behrle (Mark), Kathryn Myers, and Amanda Myers. He is survived by his brother Robert Myers (Ginny) and sister Linda Myers, mother-in-law Carole Ulmer, sister-in-law, Claudia Macik (Bob), and 12 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by siblings David Myers, Raymond Myers, and Nancy (Myers) Kotolnick.

Richard graduated from Abington H.S. and received a Turf Grass Management degree from Penn State. Richard worked as a superintendent for Springfield Country Club and spent 30 years as a Building & Grounds Superintendent for an adult housing community in Blue Bell. He was also co-owner of Wild Birds Unlimited in Broomall for several years. In semi-retirement, Richard was a bus driver for First Student and loved his daily runs and students. A jack-of-all-trades and handyman, he had finished building the family's log cabin in the Poconos in 2009 and loved fishing & boating on the lake. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Blue Bell. Richard enjoyed camping, woodworking, landscaping, and being outdoors. He loved his "granddogs", was an avid fan of talk radio, and knew movie & TV trivia like no one else. Richard's family & friends remembered him for his humor, generosity, and patience. He had a deep patriotic spirit for veterans and local police. His world revolved around his family and he will be dearly missed.
